MEDPORŽ TITAN Cranial Curve BARRIER Implant
|
|
The New MEDPOR TITAN Cranial Curve and MEDPORŽ TITAN Cranial Curve BARRIER Implants
offer the cranial surgeon an attractive option for cranial/skull base reconstruction, such as
the repair of defects in the posterior fossa, mastoid, pterion, and temporal regions.
The MEDPOR TITAN Cranial Curve is a titanium mesh embedded between two sheets of porous,
high-density polyethylene, providing the advantages of fibro-vascular integration of the
patient's host tissue through the polyethylene sheets. MEDPOR TITAN Cranial Curve BARRIER is
a sheet of titanium mesh with a sheet of porous high-density polyethylene on the convex (skin)
side of the mesh and solid high-density polyethylene on the concave (dura) side, allowing for
fibrovascular ingrowth only on one side of the implant.1
Both MEDPOR TITAN Cranial Curve and MEDPOR TITAN cranial Curve BARRIER Implants are preshaped
to the general curvature of the cranium and are intended for non-load bearing applications.
- The titanium mesh used with the MEDPOR Biomaterial allows the surgeon to further bend and contour the implant material to the desired shape.
- Titanium is radio-opaque, making the implant visible on radiographs or CT scans2.
