The FLEXBLOCK Temporal Fossa Implant shapes are designed to augment
deficient soft tissue in the temporal region. Surgeons may select
from three sizes to aid in temporal contouring to replace missing
or atrophic tissues resulting from trauma, neurological procedures,
fat atrophy, or lateral orbital rim displacement.
The interconnecting, omni directional pore structure of the MEDPOR®
Biomaterial allows for rapid vascularization and soft tissue ingrowth.
The pedicles of the implant may be placed against the temporal bone
in instances of missing temporalis muscle or against the deep fascia
of the temporalis muscle in atrophic cases. The pedicles may be
easily trimmed to reduce their projection.
The overall perimeter may be modified using surgical scalpels or
scissors. Stabilization may be accomplished by suturing to surrounding
soft tissue or by using rigid fixation techniques.
MEDPOR Implants are composed of biocompatible porous polyethylene
for use in craniofacial augmentation and reconstruction procedures.
Implants are provided STERILE, packaged individually in double peel
pouches.
