Video

"Mandibular Augmentation with Porous Polyethylene Implants" (2007)

Michael J Yaremchuk, M.D. augments the body, the ramous, and the angle of the mandible with alloplastic implants through an intraoral incision high on the labial side of the sulcus. Dr. Yaremchuk fixates the implant using titanium screws.

Video

"MEDPOR® Orbito-Zygomatic Implant" (2007)

Saleem Abdulrauf, M.D. shows the use and placement of the MEDPOR Orbito-Zygomatic (OZ™) Implant in orbital reconstruction following an orbital zygomatic craniotomy. When positioned as shown in the video, the OZ Implant protects the periorbita cosmetically without sticking to it and avoids pulsation exophthalmos.

Clip

"The MEDPOR® Transsphenodial Sellar Implant (TSI™)" (2007)

This video shows an endoscopic transnasal approach to pituitary tumor reconstruction using a MEDPOR® Transsphenodial Sellar Implant. The video depicts one surgeon’s surgical technique for closure and placement of a MEDOR TSI Implant in a defect without a CSF leak and closure and placement of a MEDPOR TSI Implant after an intraoperative CSF Leak.

Clip

"Surgical Techniques for the Lower Eyelid Spacer" (2002)

James Patrinely, M.D. F.A.C.S. and Charles Soparkar, M.D., Ph.D., depict the surgical technique for the MEDPOR Lower Eyelid Spacer. Because success with the Lower Eyelid Spacer is highly technique dependent, the video further addresses implant mechanics and the management of the most common complications seen within their practice since its first use in 1998.

Video

"Surgical Technique for Use of the MEDPOR® Nasal Shell Implant" (2001)

Paul O’Keeffe, M.B., B.S., (Syd), F.R.C.S., F.R.A.C.S., Sydney, Australia describes his semi-open rhinoplasty technique using the MEDPOR® Nasal Shell for saddle nose deformity. The MEDPOR Nasal Shell Implant, developed with Dr. O’Keeffe, resembles the natural nasal pyramid and was designed specifically to augment the nasal bones and upper lateral cartilage. The Nasal Shell is provided sterile in two sizes with two optional dorsal inserts to fill any void under the implant, and a silicone sizer. Pre and post operative photo’s are included.

Video

"The MEDPOR® Pterional Implant A Neurosurgical Approach" (2001)

The MEDPOR Pterional Implant, developed with Dr. Murali Guthikonda of the Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University, was designed specifically to fill the hollow resulting after a pterional craniotomy during neurosurgical procedures. Originally, Dr. Guthikonda used the MEDPOR TF Implant for this application, (but felt that a smaller, more appropriately contoured implant would require less intraoperative sculpting and be easier and faster to utilize during the closing stages of his procedures. The new Pterional Implant is smaller and is indicated to aid in correction of temporal hollowing in patients who have had surgery involving the pterional approach to the cranium, including pterional craniotomy.

Clip Video

"Cranioplasty Using MEDPOR® Porous Polyethylene Implants" (2000)

In this video, Dr. Robert Wallace, Chief of Plastic Surgery, University of Tennessee College of Medicine, discusses his use of a MEDPOR Customized Implant to correct a large cranial defect. At the time this video was filmed in 2000, Dr. Wallace had over eight years experience using MEDPOR Surgical Implants in various cranial reconstruction applications that include both preformed and customized implants. Pre and post operative photos are included. Dr. Wallace continues to use MEDPOR Surgical Implants in various cranial and facial reconstructive applications.
